Trump Threatens Veto, Then Signs Spending Bill

The equities markets were volatile and range bound today, but trading volumes were substantially elevated.  The big news weighing on the market before the open was the fact that the $1.3T spending bill passed through Congress, with over 2/3rds of US senators voting in favor of the bill and thus establishing clear bipartisan support. While President Trump had threatened to veto the bill, the support of the clear majority of the Senate essentially assured that a veto would have almost certainly been overturned.
