O’Reilly Automotive Inc. (ORLY) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $300.4 million.
On a per-share basis, the Springfield, Missouri-based company said it had net income of $3.72.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $3.76 per share.
The auto parts retailer posted revenue of $2.31 billion in the period, also missing Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.33 billion.
For the year, the company reported profit of $1.32 billion, or $16.10 per share. Revenue was reported as $9.54 billion.
O’Reilly Automotive expects full-year earnings to be $17.37 to $17.47 per share, with revenue in the range of $10 billion to $10.3 billion.
O’Reilly Automotive shares have climbed almost 3 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has risen 9 percent. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $353.62, an increase of 39 percent in the last 12 months.
