The stock market and the bond market are both closed on Monday, May 28, 2018, for the Memorial Day holiday. The stock market is open, as usual, on the Friday preceding Memorial Day, but the bond market closes early (at 2 p.m. Eastern time) on Friday, May 25.

When a holiday falls on a weekend, market closures are dictated by two rules:

  • If the holiday falls on a Saturday, the market will close on the preceding Friday.
