The Caucus of African American Leaders will hold a candidate forum on education and equity June 12 and has invited candidates for the Board of Education of Anne Arundel County.
The forum will be moderated by former board member Tony Spencer and former board president Vince Leggett. The former dean of the Anne Arundel campus of defunct Sojourner-Douglass College, Charlestine Fairley, will also moderate.
The meeting starts at 5 p.m. with a social hour, and the forum begins at 6 p.m.Torrington Ford, who recently graduated Anne Arundel Community College at 15, will be presented with an award during the social hour.
The forum will be at the Wiley H. Bate Legacy Center at 1101 Smithville St. in Annapolis.

In District 1: Sidney Butcher, Candace Antwine and David Starr.
In District 4: Melissa Ellis, Julie Hummer and Donna Rober.
In District 5: Terry Gilleland, Vincent Goldsmith and Dana Schallheim. A fourth candidate, Uju Elliffe, said in an email that she no longer wants to run but she missed the deadline to withdraw.
In District 7: Michelle Corkadel, Laticia Hicks and Ray Leone.
